We Believe
First Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church. We believe that Church should be timeless, not trendy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a message that resonates with every generation and every culture. The Bible is the inspired Word of God spoken through men. We believe in the trinity that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are three in one. Jesus was sent by God the Father to bear the sins of the world and offer salvation to those who put their trust in Him.
Our History
First Baptist Church has been a part of the Mariposa community since 1952 as an Independent Baptist Church. The majority of that time was in our old location at 12th Street and Bullion Street. Construction of our new location began in the early 2000's. We were thrilled to move into our new location in 2012. This facility has allowed us to better serve and meet the needs of our community.

Ray and Sharon ShullSenior PastorPastor Ray and Sharon have been married since 1977. They have 4 children who are serving the Lord. Pastor Ray has been in full-time ministry since 1983 and has been a part of First Baptist Church since 1989. From 2002 until 2013, he served as a missionary in Cambodia. He loves people and has a heart for the Lord.

Ben and Jane YoungrenAssociate PastorJane and I have been married for 16 years and are blessed to have 4 children. In May of 2021, I graduated from West Coast Baptist College with a degree in Pastoral Theology. We love being able to serve the people in the community where we grew up! We enjoy all aspects of church life and ministry, and we are thankful for the opportunity to lead the teens fellowship, soul-winning opportunities, and discipleship!
